I had a fabulous New Year’s Eve with Lucas and my cousins Chris and Daniel. We helped Daniel celebrate his 21st birthday with drinks at Belmont Inn and the Aalto Lounge, before heading back to the apartment for champagne (well, sekt, actually) at midnight. Then the cousins wandered home and we went to Holman’s for a late-night breakfast. Eggs and hashbrowns are very satisfying when you’re drunk. And champagne has a remarkable ability to push me from tipsy to drunk. This is a very good reason to only drink it once a year.
And now I’m wishing I could’ve had hashbrowns for lunch instead of my pb&j. I think I need to get more creative about weekday lunches. I’m getting tired of the two kinds of sandwiches I’ve been alternating between.
